We are a ZTV household and have been for six years. We had TWC for years in many cities dating back to the early 1980s. We switched to Dish through the period where to get local HDTV I had to have an external antenna, and then went back to TWC. I always kept my ISP separate from cable and have had access to fairly fast Internet for years. So we stream: Netflix, Hulu and Vudu as they have improved, Blockbuster for a while, and then from many broadcasters who put their signals online. Sports are getting easier to watch when streamed, and Netflix still has it hands down on the consistency of the signal. There are times I would trade a lower-res signal for lack of interruptions. My HT system, if you can call a darkened living room an HT, consists of a laptop computer with an AVer HDTV dongle, a remote control dongle, as well as a USB audio output to my AV receiver. The video is sent directly to my projector and I have a 110" screen 15 feet away from the projector. I also have a Smart BD player that I use for streaming when I don't want to use the computer. The Netflix software for the BD player is better than the software for the PC, for example, while the Hulu and Vudu software works better with my browser than with the Smart BD player's implementation. At least that's the case for now. The other system is a 37-inch LDC display getting signals from a PC, a PS3, or a DVD recorder that has a built-in ASTC tuner. Streaming options are identical.
