Best LP purchase of 2012, the re-released "Wish You Were Here" - Pink Floyd with the photo book and black wrapping. My dad left me his vinyl collection, I'm building mine to pass to my son, but Floyd on vinyl always a great buy! Can't believe I didn't buy it sooner.
Just listened to the entire Beatles box set collection at a (lucky) friend's house who got the box for Christmas - stunning! The Beatles are always fresh, no matter how many times you hear them, and the quality of the vinyl box set is crazy excellent.
While I didn't purchase any vinyl last year, I did get a good start on digitizing all my records to that I would not have to wear them out and risk further scratches to hear them. The Joan Baez 'Diamond and Rust' album.

Best for me was the Beatles box set. I bought quite a bit of vinyl last year, but it surprised me the most. Beatles were before my time. Sure I had listened to them in the past, but when I heard that vinyl on my 2ch rig I felt as if I had never really heard them before.
I actually just found myself really getting into 2-channel, pure music...So, naturally I went out and tracked down all the LP's of artists I'd been listening to digitally this whole time. My favorite so far is actually Jason Mraz's We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things, but Jack Johnon's In Between Dreams isn't far off. I think it's just using a phono stage for the first time...so much different to me than digital recordings!
I have to say that The Beatles Stereo Vinyl Box Set was my favorite purchase of 2012. I LOVE this band...and the foundation that they laid down for the rest of the music industry. No one compares to them, and this LP just reminds me that no one could ever reach their viability again! Wish I saw them all in concert together...in my next lifetime!

My favorite new LP... Tough call been buying vinyl a lot this year re-issues, used etc, but my favorite new music vinyl has to be Chris Robinson Brotherhood - Big Moon Ritual. Great music, awesome production on the sleeve and the heavy weight vinyl.

Still hesitating to buy alot of Vinyl but did grab a pristine lp Spirit of '76 by Spirit! Double album great sound not their best material having goofy covers and all but still a good buy with great sound!
