"All in all, I was impressed by how not bad it all was."

OMG, a ringing endorsement if ever there were one! Now I regret having not made the effort to see this (almost).

Right? Well, given all the intensely negative reviews from SW:TPM 3D, I was expecting the worst.

I just saw this in 3-D earlier tonight. I really love "Titanic" the movie but I really didn't see the benefit of having it converted to 3-D (unless it was to make James Cameron more money.) I kept lifting my glasses (I wear trifocals daily.) I kept feeling like I had to adjust the 3-D glasses, like maybe I was missing something because of the extra bulk. I really wasn't missing anything. Until the ship hit the iceberg, I probably could have enjoyed the film just as much without the 3-D. And even after, like your review said, there were only a few scenes where the 3-D was really interesting. I'm glad I saw it again on the big screen since I only saw it once when it was originally released, but I think I'll stick with my home copy of "Titanic" and not bother with it in 3-D.
