This is a nice article. Hopefully this will be followed up soon with a system for those who have chosen not to go the apple route.
Alternatively can the airport express access music on a nas drive?

It is worth mentioning that the price you have listed for the Paradigm speakers is for the "premium" finish. For the standard black ash version the price would be $100 cheaper, albeit not quite as snazzy looking. I think this gives the value edge to that setup. All good choices though!

Actually, the premium finish A2s are up to $330/single, so $660 for the pair (as opposed to $280/$560 for the black model) — even so, it's a pretty good value in context.

Another good possibility would be the Audyssey Media Speaker Daniel Kumin looked at this week; at $259/pair. While it doesn't have the horsepower that some of the bigger systems do, it offers onboard optical inputs, so it lets you dispense with an outboard DAC. Worth considering if you don't need to cover a big room. http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/article/power-speakers-three-new-active...

I stand corrected.

I have a silly question. How do I power the USB DAC recommended above if I go from Apple TV --> DAC --> Powered Speakers?

@toneeus You'd use a USB power adapter; something along these lines:

A smartphone charger, basically.

Hi, Do you recommend a DAC (AudioEngine D1) to feed AudioEngine A5+ or Emotiva Pro airmotiv4 VIA Apple AirPort Express??
