I'm skeptical. Any media library curated my a monetary interest will have some behind-the-scenes relationship with music labels. What we receive in the form of the library will serve corporate interests, not mine. It could never take into account the hours of obsolete vinyl I've hand-ripped, and the many cassette-only releases that continue to come out (and that I buy).

Two points: 1. Most of my friends do not share my taste in music. 2. If we all shared our music all the time, we'd be getting too close to a dystopian state that precludes individuality.

No, I still prefer finding music on my own terms, relying on listening to previews and reading good old fashioned reviews. Don't get me wrong, I turn friends on to music (and vice versa) sometimes- and not using a corporate social networking tool to do that will not encumber my doing that in any way.
