Win a Pair of Miles Davis Trumpet In-Ear Headphones

personally, what I would like to see is thoughtful and distinct treatment of all the situations in modern home entertainment that involve headphones. Most of us have smartphones, some of us have dedicated digital music players, and a few of us have real honest to god stereos. All three require totally different phones. I may want a pair of enclosed cans to listen hard to a new SACD or DVD audio. When choosing phones for my ipod, I have three criteria: full range, revealing mids, and the ability to sleep with them on. Phone 'phones can be bluetooth, they can be wired, but all must have a mic that works well. So I have at least three pairs of headphones at any given time, and the reality is I have more because some are better at different kinds of material.

All this boils down to different needs, whether it be function or style. You should pinpoint different categories of use and style and match them up with appropriate headphones.

Although I can (and do) appreciate a great set of headphones, I'm often looking for advice on something affordable and well-made. So, while I appreciate reviews of the higher end stuff, don't neglect the lower price ranges as well.

default_avatar.png

I would like to be informed when new products and technology are introduced with regard to headphones. There are so many different kinds of headphones and we use them constantly with Ipods. I am always ready to try something new and exciting! Please keep me in the loop!!

default_avatar.png

I love speakers and subwoofers. The more speakers and subwoofer tests, the better. Everything from mondo-expensive, to inexpensive is fine with me, with plenty in the middle as well.

default_avatar.png

I would like to see more information about sound engineering become available to the general public. Maybe products could have a little pamphlet filled with information on acoustics, sound dampening, noise cancellation, etc. I know you typically don't design the products you market through your magazine, but I definitely believe a more knowledgeable customer yields a higher return to product makers. And, likewise, a higher volume of ad sales for your magazine. Thanks, Aaron

DAC's and portable headphone amps would be a nice little addition to the reviews.

These Miles Davis Trumpet In-Ear Headphones seem to me to be some very high end products. Best wishes to whom ever shall win a set of these! I also look forward to trying these new and exciting head phones to be used with my Smart Phone, iPod, Laptop, Desktop and while playing some guitar!

default_avatar.png

I enjoyed the 'Celebrity Shootout' article. How about a top 5 at various price points & configurations.

default_avatar.png

As a soon to be new homeowner and gamer, I need a good pair of headphones to use during a late -night gaming session and I can't bother my wife with the Bose 2.1 setup. I've tried gaming headphones that claim to be surround, but most are cheaply made and have tinny sound (although not priced as such.) There should be a gamer headphone shootout, and not just headphones with mics. What headphones out there really bring out the soundscapes of modern games that have hollywood movie-like sound design?

default_avatar.png

I would like to see more comparisons of all the types of head phones along with better categorization of them when being compared. (in-ear buds, in-ear buds with iPhone mic, over the ear, gaming, small-large headphones, etc). The world is going more and more mobile to where we are being flooded with all different types and brands of headphones/ear-buds that is getting hard to pick one with out buy them, trying them out, and keeping or returning until we find the right choice. I once had to buy and return 3 different in-ear buds until I found one that had the best quality & fit for my money.(Shure E3c, Bose AE2, & a cheapy pair for back ups I all own). A benchmark test along with customer polls would be a great helpful tool when looking for new headphone, which I am about due for newer set to work with my iPhone.

default_avatar.png

To ad to my post, The test reports would look better and be easier to read if the had side by side charts and data specs on them along with the customer polls.

default_avatar.png

I am interested in headphone amps but first want to find a pair of in-ear phones that stay in whil I move.

default_avatar.png

I personally am on the go and would love some mobile, in-ear, noise-cancelling heaphone reviews. I do like the reviews that you have done, especially the most recent one. I think having the information and test results are huge when making a large investment...nothing is worse than making a purchase and not getting what you expected...so thank you!

default_avatar.png

I'd like to see a bit of everything ... from headphones (in and out), noise cancelling etc ... to large/small speakers.

default_avatar.png

I'd like to see a bit of everything ... from headphones (in and out), noise cancelling etc ... to large/small speakers.

default_avatar.png

I use headphone a lot, not because I like them better, but for mtb, snowboarding, etc. I would like to see coverage on good speakers, subs, and on the headphones that are in ear and have good noise cancelling so that I don't have to turn up the volume so much.

I am a musician & use the small, in-ear headphones for my MP3 player & noise cancelling headphones for my computer/home stereo/recording studio. I am really concerned more about true great sound no matter which ear/head phone I'm using as I've had a terrible time getting great sound without spending a ton of money that many people can't afford to spend. Especially these days. So, I guess I'm interested in information about affordable ear & headphones that are made well & still have great sound. Thanks for this opportunity! Peace, Love, & Beautiful Music!

Due to my budget, I usually shop on the lower end of the headphone tree, and the biggest complaint is not sound but construction particularly cords, I would like an article focused on the less than $100 phones and quality and durabilty.

default_avatar.png

more on and over the ear and much less earbuds!

default_avatar.png

I'm in the zone for in-ear, on-ear and noise canceling - I've got kids so gaming and fidelity is important and why I need noise canceling - I've almost destroyed my bose. I'm also interested in learning more about safety as well as solutions for cord tangles.

Thx.

default_avatar.png

could be wrong, but I don't think you've ever reviewed for water-resistance. I thinking of pools, and of course the issue extends to protection for the player.

default_avatar.png

I am a fan of all types of headphones, and would love to hear about all types and price points, although I favor on ear headphones. Dollar for dollar, headphones are the best investment for good sound a person can make (at least on a personal level)! What I don't see much of is reviews of headphone amps...is there a big difference in the different price points? How much of a difference do they make (taking into account variations of the source and material)? I think that would be a good article. Keep up the great work!!

default_avatar.png

Yes, please. More affordable headphones and IEMs reviews.

default_avatar.png

I travel alot on airplanes and need a really good set of noise-cancelling headphones. I've tried every other kind but the background noise is still very annoying. On 17 hour flights I need help !

default_avatar.png

I have to say you can't beat a good set of phones, but there are so many out who is going to know what they are getting till it's to late and regrets on there new set of phone's. So let's see more reviews for headphones but not just high end where some of us just drool's over them, let's see some mid range and some cheap ones too (for the active people that loves to workout while jaming out) but don't stop there some of us really like to put the phones to the test with the phone amp's. I would like to see some solid state, some tube and some crossovers (tube/solid state)
Keep up the great work

default_avatar.png

Headphones are and always have been an important part of any audio system. The advent of portable listening devices brought new focus to small, earbud type headphones. I would like to read reports on low cost items, buds that can take a beating (running, boating, etc), on up to very high end. I live in a very warm region of the country with lots of humidity. I have a terrible time with keeping ear buds from falling out. Maybe a review of ear buds that can handle these conditions. Additionally, we cannot forget about home systems, stereo, and wireless units and not just ear bud, but the over the ear type.

default_avatar.png

I'd like to see coverage on good quality earphones for sports and and athletes that are sweat resistant, stay in your ear and sound good. Preferably iPhone friendly with inline remotes.

default_avatar.png

I'd like to see more coverage of dedicated headphone amps.

default_avatar.png

Thank you very much for the work you do.

I love in-ear headphones and, while I like reading about the higher-end gear, I get the most value reading about the hidden nuggets that are low- to mid-priced earbuds that can deliver higher quality.

I'd also be really interested in do-it-yourself headphones.

Lastly, I'm always interested in finding out how to improve the sound from our portable players. Do we need to get better players? Or should we invest more in headphones? Or do we need to invest in both? Lastly, are there any portable speakers that are worth anything?

Thanks again.

default_avatar.png

I must admit I 've never really been into jeadphones all that much but when I heard Paradigm was coming out with earbuds, I was intrigued. It would be nice to see a comparison between the pros and cons of earbuds vs headphones as well as what to look for when buying.

default_avatar.png

I would like to see an article on the physical characteristics of headphones at different price points that distinguish, say, a cheap set from an expensive set, and mid-priced sets that have the characteristics of high priced sets that are a great value. Bottom line is great sound, but what devices do the manufacturers build in to achieve higher quality sound?

We all want that set that is 95% of the quality sound of a high end set of headphones at a fraction of the price.

default_avatar.png

I would like to see a comparison between headphones of different types, to show how they would benefit to different types of people. Then again, a high-performance shootout would be nice (best of the best). The same would go with portable and standing headphone pre-amps, amps, etc.

I think a balance need be achieved, whatever is done. There shouldn't be too much of one category, as to accommodate for all headphone styles, and the price range of those reviewed/compared should be across the board. Surely some consumers would like to hear about $20,000 headphones, while others may be looking for a good $20 pair of cans. Either way, moderation is always best.

Its also important not to make headphones more or less important than other areas of Sound and Vision. Televisions, for example, should be equally important as headphones, and covering new releases is a must.

The bottom line is that balance and moderation win the day and a variety of information equally accounting for different price brackets and headphone styles will make for a highly desirable periodical.

default_avatar.png

Both: in-ear is the way to go these days, but I can't quite get over the superb sound quality of my Numark headphones.

default_avatar.png

Would like to see:
- DAC reviews
- Headphones and portable DACs and amplifiers
- Continue surround music coverage (DVD Audios, Blue Rays, etc), Steven Wilson projects
- Audiophile downloads music,software evolution. 24 96 or 24 192 lossless music
- Passive 3D HDTV technologies

default_avatar.png

Yes, it can be entertaining and fun to read the reviews of cost-no-object products including headphones, (we all like to dream) it was great to see a number of high quality, affordable headphones included in the new Sound and Vision headphones round-up. As someone who travels by air frequently, I would love to see a similar review of popular (and affordable) noise-canceling headphone models with good sound quality.

Keep up the good work.

default_avatar.png

I would like to see more coverage of decent exercise headphones, that can take the punishment of running (and thus sweating) and have great sound at the same time. I had a pair of Sennheiser HD 40's that had great overall sound (and deep bass) and they recently bit the dust, and I have been unable to find a good replacement for them.

default_avatar.png

Hell, I was looking for another place to read headphone reviews. I would like more shootouts with a baseline for each segment (Grado SR-60 for midlevel over ear, etc) and reviews of some of those "fashion" headphones to see if any of them sound good at all.

default_avatar.png

never used headphones before ,but with 5 grandkids here everyday ,I'd love a pair of wireless headphones that are interchangeable(do they make anything like that)

default_avatar.png

My ears aren't as young as they used to be, so my ability to discern between various speakers may be more limited than a few decades ago.
That said, I'd like to see more comparisons of speakers within various price ranges.
I'm probably not going to go out and buy the very latest, very best speaker just because it got a great review, as my ears can't tell the difference anymore between many of them.
But I don't want to buy something that sounds junky, at any pricepoint.
I enjoy the articles, and I actually learn a lot from some of them, both the subjective reviews and the technical stuff.

default_avatar.png

Headphone reviews are great. I agree with other posters that you should include lower price ones. I would also like to see a comparison of high resolution downloads and sites that offer them. I see a lot of finger pointing out there.

picture-695-1318659882.png

I'd like to see a roundup of Headphone/IEMs paired with appropriate DACs and/or AMPs to drive them.

Many good quality heaphone or IEMs need extra amplification to sound proper but often the needed consideration is overlooked or is not is the proper price range for the cost of the headphone or IEM.

By showcasing a few good setups across price ranges it would help buyers find the best sound for their money and not feel like they wasted money and effort on new headphones or IEMs only to later find that they should considered have a better DAC or headphone amp to get good sound from their purchase.

default_avatar.png

I would like reviews based on the type of sound desired. For instance, best headphones for bass, best headphones for mid-range, best for highs, etc. A break down based on cost of said headphones would be nice as well.

default_avatar.png

I am often in a situation where I am listening to music on headphones in a noisy environment. I would be interested in information on noise cancelling headphones for my next purchase.

default_avatar.png

Of all the celebrities to "endorse" this product, by which I mean pay for the rights to use the name of, Miles Davis is a damn good choice. I'd also like to applaud Monster for realizing there is genres of music outside of rap and hip-hop and the other genres deserve an appropriate product.

I can't speak to the sound characteristics of these headphones as I can't afford to buy them and try them myself, however I do hope I win as I'd love to use some good headphones when I listen to music and not the $10 pair of disposables I'm currently using.

Until the day Paradigm releases over-the-ears, I wait and hope.

default_avatar.png

I travel frequently and wear my Bose 15 headphones on every flight. As I look around the cabin, I see more and more people wearing them. I am interested how they compare to some of the new models, like beats, and whether I am foresaking a better musical experience for the noise canceling feature. Based on the number of people I see wearing the Bose, I believe many people have a similiar question. Thanks

default_avatar.png

Several years ago I saw an article on the best hearing aids for audiophiles. It would be interesting to know if there is any technology for headphones/earphones to help the hearing impaired.

default_avatar.png

I would like additional coverage for audiophile quality downloads (24 96, 24 192). To be more specific, would like more structured "how to" guides to be able to find legal downloadable lossless music to play in my computer/DAC combination. I am computer literate but don't have time to spend hours of research on how pick the best software to be able to download, decompress, demux, convert from multiple file formats, etc. There is a lot of information available today on the web, but a lot is confusing, involves questionable freeware and in many cases illegal music content downloads.

It would be nice to see a guide that would help us navigate how to:
1. Use the best SW tools to download, decode, convert, etc the lossless files (way beyond CD quality, true high quality 24 192 FLAC or WAV, etc. files)
2. Suggestions on where to get the best legal music to download on those high quality formats. For example, how to pay and download for a legal copy of the masterpiece "Aja" from Steely Dan, or "Eye in the Sky" from Alan Parsons Project, etc.
3. Instructions on how to burn to disk and play in the computer high quality content from existing legal purchased DVD-As, etc. As an example, how to be able to download to hard disk and play from my computer the LPCM 2.0 24 96 version of the music already available in most of the DVD-Audio disks that I already have purchased.

default_avatar.png

I suggest that versatility, durability and comfort are extremely important when considering any headphone. Your magazine concentrates on home audio and theater, but many enthusiasts are also professional or semi-pro musicians and reviews of headphones suitable for home recording, headphone amps for electronic instruments and live use would be very helpful. Lastly, I would love to see a review on the best wireless headphones, taking into account sound quality, ease of use and noise. To date, I have been unable to find an affordable wireless headphone that wasn't too noisy and compressed.

default_avatar.png

In addition to many of the great suggestions already offered, I would like to see coverage of surround sound (e.g. Smyth Realiser) and wireless headphones.

default_avatar.png

I like good sounding music, And I'm stuck with a $3.00 pair of "jelly bean" headphones!
