Seems like Showtime's cornered the market on heartbreaking comedy with dark themes and strong female leads, and in collaboration with Lionsgate we're giving away three pairs of DVDs, and a pair of Blu-ray discs, representing some of the best of what's on TV today — Season Three of Nurse Jackie, and Season Seven of Weeds.
Nurse Jackie, Showtime’s award-winning original series about a drug-addicted nurse in a New York City emergency room, finds Edie Falco continuing to balance her responsibilites with her addiction. The audio commentaries feature Falco and additional cast and crew, including show creators Liz Brixius and Linda Wallem. Season Seven of Weeds catches up with pot-dealing suburban mom Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker), now living in a New York City halfway house (after three years in prison) as season seven of Showtime’s Weeds begins. Nancy fights her sister Jill (Jennifer Jason Leigh) for custody of her youngest son and competes with older son Silas (Hunter Parrish) for pot-dealing territory in New York.
As usual, all you'll have to do to qualify to win is share your thoughts with us. This week's topic: How do you view epsiodic TV these days? Do you watch it live? Rent or buy on DVD or Blu-ray? Stream via Hulu? Let us know how you're consuming your TV content and qualify to win.
The winners will be chosen randomly from among those who leave on-topic comments. Three lucky readers will receive a pair of DVDs; one will receive a pair of Blu-ray discs. Say what you like — even dismiss the idea of TV altogether. We're OK with that. You will have to register, however — no anonymous commenters, we need a valid e-mail contact address to inform you of your win. We'll take entries until midnight (Eastern Time), on Wednesday, February 29nd, and notify the winner via e-mail by Friday, March 2nd.
Best of luck!

I watch it live.
Dvr or Netflix always. I hate watching commercials.
I have watched a few episodes of both shows and would like to see more
Nurse Jackie is so naughty!
As much as possible, I watch my favorite shows live. Back-up plan for shows that I can't watch live is DVR. There are a few shows over the years that I have enjoyed so much I have bought on DVD. Weeds is awesome and would like to see more of Nurse Jackie!
Never, ever live. Closest to it is starting 15 minutes after... Right now, I'm way behind what's on the DVR.
And sometimes streaming from wherever.
I love medical shows. Thanks
I watch current material mostly using my DVR with OTA tuning. Started using Hulu recently on the one station that doesn't tune well, and I am watching some older series on Netflix streaming.
I'd say 90% of my TV viewing is on the U-verse provided DVR. I will only watch sporting events live. If I'm channel surfing and come across something I want to watch, I'll usually hit the record button and come back to it later. This, of coarse, so I can FF through the commercials. I don't have time to give 30 min. to a 22 min program. I have Netflix but I'm looking into Hulu+. Hulu doesn't carry AMC or FX programs though (bummer)! I'll need those channels before I cut the cord!
I always watch from my DVR. Never live. Saves time by skipping commercials. I'm also never forced to watch on the networks schedule but on mine.
I watch it live.
I love Nurse Jackie but I do not get it with my new cable package. Would love to win this and see Weeds too!
Netflix is great!! We use our DVR a lot, too.
What little TV I watch, I watch live. There aren't too many shows I am addicted to! Sometimes watch missed episodes on the computer.
yo nurse jackie is the bomb
I watch both but it is easier to follow a series on DVD rather than each week on TV.
70% DVR, 20% netflix, and ever so rarely live on TV
I watch it live.
I believe in occasional recreational drug use and love these shows!
I watch TV live. I'm kind of embarrassed because I haven't figured out yet how to set up my dvd. I will soon though!!
I typically watch it live if I'm home at the time and not busy, I DVR it if I remember too and I catch it online if all else fails.
Usually I watch it on TiVo.
love to watch the classic tv shows on dvd
rent? buy?
ever try
library?
I gave up cable two years ago. Now I watch TV shows by streaming from the network's website through my laptop, plugged in to my 52" HDTV via HDMI.
I watch sports live, and am only a casual TV viewer. Can't handle commercials. The only shows I DVR are Justified, Walking Dead & Fringe. My girlfriend DVR's EVERYTHING. Love the Dan Patrick show in the AM, but usually just listen to it on the radio, cos I'm always working. Also love Nurse Jackie , but don't have HBO, so I have the 1st 2 seasons on Blu-Ray ( hint, hint). I usually end up buying Blu-Rays or DVD movies, because I just don't have the time to see new releases and since all the Blockbusters closed here in Tucson, only have Redbox, which is fine, but almost always sold out of anything recent.
Haven't seen Weeds, but some people I know just love it. Good luck to me!!
Watch them both
Wife will love to rewatch them over and over
I seldom record a show. I figure if I miss it, it will be shown again as a re-run. I have a couple shows I watch pretty regularly, but I try not to let TV control my life or dictate my schedule.
I watch on the computer.
I watch both of these shows and have never used a DVR. I love both of them and am so dissapointed when they end!
DVR only .. no realtime TV
I record shows to my DVR, even if I am available to watch a show as it airs. This allows me to watch the show when it is convenient for me, and allows me to fast-forward through commercials.
I stream some older shows on Netflix, ones I haven't seen before. For example, I recently watched the entire "Battlestar Gallactica" series (the newer one, of course) on Netflix, and am currently watching "24" the same way,.
There are some rare times when I will rent a TV show DVD or BD through my Blockbuster Online account, but I mostly get movies through them.
I do own some TV shows on DVD, too, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "The Sopranos" are too good not to watch multiple times!
A few different ways at this time a Tivo2, Xbox, Bluray & DVD, Live TV rarely just too busy.Just won a WD Live TV box, trying it out now. thanks
We DVR most episodic TV, but get Dexter on Blu-ray from Netflix, as we do not subscribe to Showtime.
For the most part watch but sometimes see On Demand if available. Do not own DVR.
We usually rent (about 80% of the time). 15% of the time we record it on Tivo. 5% of the time we buy the dvd/blu ray discs.
I still use a VCR to record the shows that I want to watch.
Antennae.
I usually, but not always, record the shows on my DVR and watch them at my leisure. I almost never watch the shows on my computer, because the TV screen is much larger.
Mostly Netflix, with DVR/On Demand and then actually watching it as it airs being my last choice.
Both of these shows are very good!
I only had Showtime for a few months but during that time I really loved watching Nurse Jackie.
Mostly dvr. If I miss something, I'll watch it online. Occasionally I watch stuff live.
If it's a favorite show, I prefer to buy the DVD set. My husband and I love to watch an entire season of a show over a long, snowy weekend.
I usually watch it on the television and DVR the programs since I'm always working and watch it one day at a time.
I watch live.
I watch live when I can but most of the time I use DVR...
Most of the time I watch live, closely followed by DVR!
I either:
Watch it live
DVR it and watch it later
Watch it from DVR's ON DEMAND feature
Buy the series on DVD or Blu-ray (usually DVD due to the high markup on Blu-ray, but sometimes I find a good deal or splurge).
And on rare occasions I stream the show from the network's website.
Of the five methods, I watch it live or buy the series most often.
I record my shows on DVR but prefer to watch them when they first comeon but sometimes that is not possible
