Say what you will about the economy, but Vizio seems to be doing well. Last week leading up to Black Friday, the company sold over a quarter million HDTVs. According to a press release issued yesterday, Vizio moved 280,000 HDTVs total on the week of November 22, a 40% jump over last year.
Of those HDTVs, 50,000 models were 120 or 240-Hz screens, and 20,000 were 50 inches or larger. These two groups represent respective jumps of 945% and 1000% over last year, impressive numbers. Vizio also sold 7,000 sound bars, but that's not really as interesting as the over quarter million televisions.
