After reading this review, I went to the nearest Best Buy Magnolia store to take a look at this item. I told the sales person that I intended to use five channels for a surround-sound system in one room. I also intended to use the two remaining channels to power a pair of Martin Logan SL-3's in an adjacent room. He said that I wouldn't get very good results if I used those two channels for the Martin Logans. His recommendation was to power the Martin Logans with a dedicated two-channel amp. My question is this: Is the sales person correct in saying that the remaining two channels wouldn't adequately power the electrostatics? As a bit of further information, I'm currently powering the Martin Logans with a the "B" speaker selection on a Kenwood receiver rated at 100 wpc. In anticipation of groans of pity from those believers of amplifier differences, I say that the Martin Logans sound glorious in this setup.

The salesman wasn't out of line, or trying to upsale you I don't think. It was his or her's honest opinion. That said, this receiver should be able to drive your zone 2 without problem.
