Welcome to the world of technological tautology. While Apple has still remained schtum about any new Apple TV product, a report from The New York Times hints that the next generation of Apple TV could actually be a television of some form. As always, these rumors are extremely vague, but according to the Times, "Apple might base a new television design on its iOS operating system, which is on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch."
Over a month ago we reported on rumors that the next Apple TV will run on the iPhone 4 OS and hardware, and that it would be $99. Besides the iOS similarities, the shape of the supposed-next-version of the Apple TV has changed a bit in a few weeks. Hopefully Apple will actually announce something soon, to kill the rampant speculation.
