Pioneer has just announced two new Blu-ray Disc players that feature built-in iPhone control compatibility. The BDP-LX53 and BDP-330 feature the same iControlAV app as the previously announced VSX-1020 A/V receiver. iControlAV is an app you can load onto your iPhone or iPod Touch to directly control the networked Blu-ray Disc player.
The news comes from AV Watch in Japan, and since it's translated, the details are a bit hard to make out. The BDP-330 will retail for a surprisingly lowed 25,000 yen ($265 USD), and the higher-end BDP-LX53 will retail for 76,500 yen ($820 USD). The feature sets for the two players are very similar, so the significant difference in pricing is a bit jarring. Hopefully Pioneer will shed more light on the models if and when it announces a US release.
