
Yes, here's evidence (posted by former Magic Band guitarslinger Gary Lucas) of a 1986 recording engineered by Lucas, featuring the teenage Diesel (then going by his given name, Mark Sinclair) rapping over beats programmed by the always interesting (and sadly, late) avant-disco innovator Arthur Russell. One can only imagine what might have happened had Sinclair stayed on the mutant disco path. The recording is rough, but you should definitely take a listen before you head out to see Fast Five.
