After years of speculation, Hulu might finally be gearing up to launch a premium subscription version of its service called Hulu Plus.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Hulu is getting ready to test a premium, subscription-based service as soon as late May. The service will cost $9.95 per month, and will let users watch Hulu's entire media catalog. The Times says that, when the subscription service is fully implemented, free users will be limited to the 5 most recent episodes of current TV shows.
Hulu has not made any official announcements about a subscription service, and currently the Times is the only publication reporting it first-hand. Even if everything is true, in the short term this will only mean a test program launching May 24. We'll see if the company goes through with a premium service in the coming months.
