Not all your choices are my cup of tea but not a bad roundup of portable's. My list of unamped ultraportable's would be:

-sennheiser pxc 250-ii's (I don't know why this isn't on the list, one of the best ultraportable's around)
-grado sr80i (got that one dead on)
-ultrasone hfi-580's (for bassheads)
-beyerdynamic t50p's (solid portable beyer sound, easily modded)
-bower & wilkins p5's (very warm sound, enjoyable and unique design)
-ultrasone edition 8's (probably the best portable money can buy if you have a portable dac and a rather large wallet)

I would be interested in hearing how the Sony MDR 7506's stack up against this group. They're not the latest or flashiest, but still a great bargain.

Hard to take too serious a feature that has as its main photo some clown evaluating headphones WITH A HAT ON.

@geraldbrennan Or you could read the text and find out that 1) That's not the reviewer, 2) He "shows off Grado SR80i" not "listens intently and wonders why there's no bass"

But by all means deride the article for the photo. Why be interested in facts when you can be snarky.

@geoff I'm noticing a trend of you becoming butthurt at every comment that disagrees with your opinion or the quality of your work.

Please insert "snarky" response here. Because we all know that you have to be right.

Alright everybody . . let's keep it civil and on topic in here. @haroldtwilkins — I appreciate the first comment; @hsjev, one of the standby Sony models is probably worth a listen from us in this context at some point. Anyway, I'd love to see more of this kind of input from you guys.

And by the way — Justin Warfield (the model here) might be sensitive to the demands of fashion in this case (or maybe it was just cold in the high desert), but he's a fine musician and certainly knows his audio. Worth checking out (though maybe not through a knit cap)
