The Future of Surround Sound

It all sounds promising but after setting my theater in a full 7.1 configuration (including an extra two "presence" speakers - Yamaha RX-A2000 configuration) - - GUESS WHAT ????

There is very, very little content in 7.1 - it's been a waste of time. Nothing is broadcast in 7.1 and I have the Premier package with Directv. I subscribe to Blockbuster and it's virtually impossible to find 7.1 Bluray soundtracks.

So - - a lot of hype and great for writers to talk & write about but zero chance of being meaningful to the the average home theater aficionado.

If you can't find 7.1 soundtracks now - either broadcast (zero) or DVD (minimal) - - what chance do you think that Dolby Altmos has?

And...I'll have to buy another receiver and more speakers to boot?

Pure fantasy.
