DVD REVIEWS: Wallace & Gromit

Three Amazing Adventures
DreamWorks
Movie ••••
Picture/Sound ••••
Extras •••

To coincide with the theatrical release of Wallace & Gromit's first feature, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, DreamWorks has reissued three of the odd couple's animated shorts on DVD: A Grand Day Out (1989), The Wrong Trousers (1993), and A Close Shave (1995). They were previously released in 2001 by BBC Video, but the DVD quality is now greatly improved, with brighter colors, sharper images, and crisper sound. The only rub is that the new extras are skimpier than the old - but you do get ten Cracking Contraption shorts, a production featurette, and a trailer for the movie. [NR] English, Dolby Surround; full frame (1.33:1) and letterboxed (1.66:1); dual layer.
