Extras

These 28 episodes from 1962 are very different from later ones - and considerably better. The scripts crackle with excitement and intrigue. Acting is first-rate, and a young, charismatic Roger Moore draws you in by speaking directly to the camera at the beginning of each adventure. Although there's some stock footage that shows damage, the black-and-white picture is generally crisp and clean, with decent contrast. The sound, robust for 1960s TV, is still more mono than stereo. The only extras are text biographies of Moore and The Saint. [NR] English, Dolby Digital stereo; full frame (1.33:1); three dual-layer and four dual-layer discs..
