Lots of talk these days about Blu-ray acceptance. Most experts have stated that until Blu-ray players hit the magical $200 price point, the technology won't go mainstream.
Let the price wars begin.
Best Buy has just lowered the price on their house brand Insignia Blu-ray Disc Player down to $229.99. The NS-BRDVD player isn't a feature-packed high-end unit, but it plays Blu-ray, so how bad can it be? It has HDMI outputs, decoding for Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD. What's missing? A 5.1 analog output, Profile 2.0, but if these features don't mean anything to you, this could be the player to move you into the realm of Blu-ray.
Any competition for the NS-BRDVD?

Amazon.com is selling the Sony BDP-S300 Blu-ray player for - you guessed it - $229.99. There's a newer Sony, the BDP-S350, so it's not surprising that the earlier model is being blown out.
